5010 Readiness
Welcome to the 5010 Readiness Center. Here you will find information that will help prepare you for the upcoming 5010 transition.
What is 5010?
5010 is a new updated format that will replace the current X12 standard format. 5010 compliance will be required in preparation for the next big change: the new ICD-10 coding format.
If you are submitting electronic claims to ANY carrier – not just Medicare or Medicaid – your system will have to be 5010 compliant by January 1, 2012 in readiness for the ICD-10 deadline of October 1, 2013.
What do you need to do?
You should get nervous if your vendor is not yet doing anything about it, since the deadline for 5010 is coming up quickly.
What do you need to do if you are an ADS client?
ADS is committed to simplifying this transition for our customers. In fact, we have done – and continue to do – as much testing on your behalf as the carriers allow in an effort to support this transition. It is important that you speak with your payers for any additionally required 5010 information.
Per long-standing ADS policy, all ADS clients having current ADS software Support will receive updates – including 5010 – directly from ADS at no additional cost.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us by using our dedicated HIPAA 5010 support email at updatequestions@adsc.com.
What is the additional cost of receiving updates from ADS?
Zero. While plenty of vendors charge their clients – even their clients on support plans – for updates or “patches” required in order to continue using their systems, ADS has never done so.
The fact is, we provide all required updates and system version enhancements as a regular part of ADS Support, and have done so since 1977.
What should you do if your vendor is being evasive or non-committal on 5010?
Check us out! Our MedicsPremier Practice Management (PM) system provides comprehensive EDI, billing, reports, scheduling, collections and more. The system is easy to learn and use and you’ll have no problem with 5010 and ICD-10.
You can even use our MedicsRx electronic prescribing capability with MedicsPremier, without needing a complete EHR. By the way, we have that as well (see below).
ADS has performed hundreds of data conversions from existing PM systems, eliminating the need to re-enter patient data such as demographics and insurance information.
MedicsPremier can be used in Client-Server or ASP / SaaS / Cloud formats, depending on what works best for your practice.
Thousands of providers submit millions of claims yearly through our systems which are used in medical practices of every size and specialty, and by revenue cycle management companies for processing their clients’ claims.
You should consider ADS as well!
What else does ADS have?
On the EHR side, our MedicsDocAssistant V.5.2 is 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB certified by CCHIT® for Stage 1 Meaningful Use.
It will bring a full spectrum of capabilities to the practice to make things more efficient, eliminate paper and redundancy, and provide for obtaining your Stimulus Act incentives.
Whether your interest is in MedicsPremier for comprehensive 5010-compliant Practice Management, or MedicsDocAssistant EHR, or both, we can help. We also have MedicsRIS for radiology!
Why ADS?
ADS has been automating medical practices under the same company name since 1977. We represent incredible stability and reliability in an industry famous for company name changes, mergers, acquisitions, disappearing and reappearing vendors, and vendors charging exorbitant fees for required changes and updates.
Contact us at 800-899-4237 to schedule a personalized overview of any of our Medics solutions.
See how our systems can efficiently and correctly automate your practice the way you want to automate, with the exact systems you need, and in the format you want!
