About Jim O'Neill

With over 30 years of experience in LIS platforms and lab financial systems, Jim brings unmatched depth and perspective to the laboratory space. As the former owner of CSS (Avalon LIS), he spent two decades building and optimizing LIS workflows for clinical, molecular, and toxicology labs across the U.S. and internationally.

Jim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Rowan University and has personally consulted with more than 500 labs on everything from system integration to RCM automation.

Beyond healthcare IT, Jim is known for his people-first mindset and leadership in his community. He’s a former Mayor of Northfield, NJ, and currently serves on the town council—bringing the same commitment and care to his clients as he does to his city.
