for the Gastroenterology Practice

Gastroenterologists have precise requirements when it comes to EHR and MedicsDocAssistant has been detailed to meet and exceed those needs. Templates are specific to gastroenterology. Reports, consultation letters and nurses' notes can be quickly created. In addition, endoscopy images are easily stored and printed. With the electronic chart, the gastroenterologist has a straightforward overview of the patient's past and current medical issues.

History

Gastroenterological history, including past and current medical problems, family history, medications and allergies, are easily captured and stored in detail.

Encounter Review of Systems (ROS)

During the encounter the physician is able to track all ROS information showing abnormal vs. normal baselines. This can be attached to the record and shared with other health providers; specialist and consultation letters can be created on the fly.

Assessment and Treatment Plan

The system provides a built-in database with extensive data for assessments, treatment plans, nurses' notes, medications and CPT codes.

Abdomen

A dedicated window stores all abdomen-related information such as bowel sounds, hepatomegaly, rectal problems and other abdominal tests so that disease conditions can be effortlessly identified and monitored.

Lab Reports

An array of reports show lab and test results, assisting the Gastroenterologist in determining a diagnosis, with a treatment plan based on that diagnosis.

Images/PACS

Electronic documents and charts that have been scanned or otherwise obtained electronically are captured easily, and integration with virtually any endoscopy suite is seamless. The images are categorized enabling the Gastroenterologist to find the relevant reports and images quickly. MedicsPACS represents a dynamic yet very affordable solution to practices that want digital imaging storage.

Electronic Superbill

The extended superbill holds the complete set of ICD / CPT codes and the selected codes are automatically included in the encounter screen, making it virtually impossible to overlook charges since they are posted "on the fly" by the Gastroenterologist during the encounter.

Electronic Prescribing and Medication Management

Allows for the true electronic transmission of prescriptions directly to the patient's pharmacy via SureScripts™ while maintaining a record of all medications prescribed, with their dosages and refills. Alerts are provided based on allergies and other medications currently being taken, as well as any other medical conditions. Providers can create their own "favorites" list of medications.

Referrals

The Referral Letter feature allows the Gastroenterologist to send referral letters to other care providers via e-mail, fax or e-fax. Important sections of the encounter can be easily attached to the letter.
